Job Detail
Maintains and enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing and
evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices in align with
the Japanese labor law, and the company’s strategy.
Primary Relationships
This position reports directly to the CEO in Japan. Internally, this position will communicate with all function heads, and his/her subordinates.
Externally, he/she will communicate with the HRD, recruiting agencies, training vendors, and etc.
Accountabilities
Organizational Development
1. Responsible for analyzing the current organization by figures, and submit proposals to CEO for
the further organizational development.
2. Responsible for updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions to source and
to hire high potential candidates.
3. Establishing an effective recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on
candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes for better organization.
Employee Relations
1. Responsible for dealing with employee relations in coordination with HRD, and legal counterparts.
2. Carefully monitor and identify the employees who have the possibility to face problems.
Compensation & Benefits
1. Responsible for pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job
evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions.
2. Ensuring legal compliance instructed by HRD in align with the government requirements.
3. Maintaining employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and
assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing
the processing of benefit claims.
4. Review and implement the company work rules and policies with the advice of an external
consultant + HRD to fit in with the company needs, and also with the Japanese labor law.
Evaluation (Assessment) Management
1. Responsible for planning, and introducing the group evaluation procedure in align with the HQ in overseas.
Training and Development
1. Responsible for planning, and introducing training courses to both retail and office employees
in align with the brand strategy and needs.
Planning and budgeting
1. Responsible for planning and achieving the missions of all HR activities in align with the
financial goals.
2. Develop short- and long- term plans and budgets, monitor their progress, assure adherence
and evaluate their performance.
Organizational Strategy
1. Lead the HR team with a strategic perspective based on marketplace and constituent needs and
satisfaction.
Team management
1. Maintain an atmosphere that attracts, retains, and motivates top quality personnel, both paid and volunteer.
2. Recruit, train, supervise, support, develop and guide qualified personnel.
3. Support cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
* Can demonstrate skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of all HR
activities in align with the business strategy.
* Consumer Goods, Retail HR experience
* Has strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills.
* Has managed a team, and developed several subordinates in the past.
* Strong oral and written communications in both Japanese and English.
* Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
* Minimum 5 to 8 years-experience in HR as a Manager or above.
* Bachelor degree holder
