Job Description

Our Client, a multinational sports marketing is looking for the candidate as below

Requirements:


·         Degree level qualification (or equivalent)
·         5+ years in advertising, marketing or sports marketing roles across a wide range of clients in Japan
·         Successful in managing client relationships in Japan over an extended multi-year period
·         Experience working in a Japanese business environment
·         Track record of acquiring new business, upselling and renewing
·         Creative and dynamic mind set with sound knowledge of all marketing platforms and proven
·         experience in driving marketing strategy and execution – brand positioning, marketing plans, creative proposition, above and below the line campaigns
·         Business fluency in spoken and written Japanese and English is required.
·         Able to influence, persuade, negotiate and build trusting strategic relationships
·         Effective operating in an entrepreneurial, multi-territorial and multi-cultural team
·         Flexible and open mind set with a willingness to learn new account management skills and methodologies
·         Comfortable with multiple reporting lines and joint accountability to UK and Asia organizations
·         Team player able to maintain the energy and momentum within a team
Duties:
Client Relationship Management
·         Manage relationships and serve as lead client interface with our Japan-based regional and global sponsors
·         Define, direct and drive partnership strategy and execution based on an understanding of client business, objectives and strategy
·         Bring best practices drawn from other partnerships to Japanese partner activations
·         Lead the renewal strategy for partners by building close working relationships with senior-level executives and having keen antennae for issues or opportunities
·         Support sales team on new business/ renewal pitches (e.g. conduct workshops for prospects and their agency)

Marketing Activation and Campaign Execution
·         Provide thought leadership when developing ideas and planning activations
·         Suggest customizations to activation plans that reflect Japanese market demands and preferences
·         Monitor performance, at both campaign and strategic level, to ensure that acquisition, revenue and expense targets are met
·         Brief and manage the activities of advertising, market research, print/production and public relations agencies as required
·         Regularly meet with and review partners’ performance towards agreed targets
 
Team Leadership
·         Manage a relationship team (Relationship Managers and Relationship Executives) and develop their client management skills – strategic approach, selling activation ideas, campaign execution, time management and task prioritization
·         Motivate line reports and identify suitable training and education on an individual basis
·         Work with Relationship Directors and Associate Relationship Directors in UK to develop, agree
·         and implement projects, tactical initiatives and international partnership activation against

Commercial objectives
·         Ensure consistency in delivering successful local partner activations through regular
·         communications with UK Relationship Management team
·         Uphold strict brand management by adhering closely to standards and guidelines
·         Encourage cooperation between partners in the form of joint promotional activity
Management Information and Reporting
·         Ensure the Head of Marketing, Head of Partner Strategy and Managing Director, Asia Pacific are regularly briefed on all major developments and initiatives concerning Japanese partner relationships and promotional activities
·         Monitor and benchmark partner performance
·         Keep abreast of relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice as they apply the activities in Japan
