Job Description
CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT, CAD DESIGN, DRAWING CREATION (design work with goal to meet customer and their specifications):
1. - Designs (CAD) and creates concepts and production parts towards customer and internal specification considering program goals in the area of cost, quality and time lines (from initial acquisition to formal program to launch)
2. - Ensures DFMEA/TA/DFA and DFM (esp. Die casting, Stamping and injection molding processes) are integrated in product design (in conjunction with NPD and manufacturing engineering support).
3. - Creates designs in NX-Unigraphics/IDEAS towards the required customer CAD standards.
4. - Creates component, assembly and trade drawings for internal and external use using GD&T, SC (special characteristics) and other tools for identifying customer and Southco requirement.
5. - Carries out product improvements (CAD design) towards internal and external requirements (i.e. specification change request)
6. - Makes complete tolerance analysis on all interfering features (sub assembly and customers application)
- Supports Senior Engineering or Supervisor and Project Management in initial technical feasibility studies, design concept presentation and cost estimate activites and working very close with NPD team in product development cycles. Also work with Project Manager/Sales team from initial concept development during project/program acquisition and RFQ processes
1. TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (company-customer-supplier), incl. quality documentation and considering goals for cost, quality and time lines:
2. - Organizes and leads project meetings (technical aspects) to ensure program requirements are met, initiate team tasks (i.e. preparation of cost estimates, testing, quality tasks…) in regards to program needs
3. - Organizes leads and manages Design FMEA activities. Ensures that D-FMEA is up-to-date throughout the program
4. - Creates test plans on basis of customer and their requirements and supports product evaluation department to achieve results in a timely manner to the quality level required. Ensures that program/project requirements are met with designed product. Communicates design issues to DTECH management team.
5. - Supports manufacturing engineering on technical issues (product specification, i.e. material selection, etc.), tooling requirements and vendor support.
6. - Provides supply chain management team with relevant technical data so that sourcing procedures (RFQ) can be executed and successfully finished. Ensures that product and program specification changes are reported in time.
7. - Supports supply chain management group and manufacturing engineers in technical review meeting with supply base (i.e. design and process reviews)
- Ensures that product development process follows PRO-04 requirements. Maintains PRO-04 documentation when required. Manages/maintains/supports required technical customer documentation (as per customer specification).
